Which do you prefer, the freezers chest or the upright freezer? Depending on your style and the space you have to work with, both units work just as well as the other. Not all freezers chest are built the same, so make sure you do your research before making up your mind.

Read Reviews of past Customers about the Freezer Chest you’re about to Purchase

Carefully Read Instructions and Reviews before Stocking your Freezer

When people decide to purchase a freezers chest, the one thing they are thinking is how it’s going to save them money on their grocery bill. After reading reviews from people from various items, I feel that a freezers chest is somewhat of a gamble. I’ve read more negative reviews than positive ones when it comes to freezers chest than I did when I read the reviews on upright freezers.

The few positive reviews I read were all different. Some read how quiet they ran, or how it saved on space. These are good reviews. I would think that if I were to purchase a freezers chest, more than likely, I would stick it in the basement. Space wouldn’t be a problem for me. However, I would find it bothersome if it didn’t run quiet. I think that it would probably drive me crazy if I heard the thing running throughout the night. So when I read negative reviews about it running loudly, it discourages me in purchasing one.

The negative reviews I read said that the unit wouldn’t keep items frozen. This I have a problem with. I wouldn’t want to purchase a freezer chest, fill with frozen foods, only to find out later that the frozen food I stock it with are now ruined. That’s an expensive way to find out that I needed to exchange it or get my money back. Plus, after I carried it downstairs, now I got to carry it back up. I don’t think that I would be a happy person. Make sure you read the owner’s manual before you stock your freezer.

The Different Brands to Choose From

The few brands that I read reviews about said pretty much the same thing. Most of them said that they had problems at first, that the freezers chest wasn’t keeping the top portion of the food stock frozen. After most exchanges, they stated in their reviews that it worked great. I’m still not satisfied with this.

Brands like Kenmore and Kitchen-Aid did not convince me enough to go out and purchase one of their products. The Kenmore unit I read reviews about was the worst. People complaining how they got their product home only to find out that the freezers chest was damaged. That was a common statement in the reviews. The Kitchen-Aid reviews weren’t as bad, but enough to discourage me from purchasing one. The GE unit I read reviews about was mostly positive. They arrived in good working condition, ran quietly, and most importantly – it kept frozen foods frozen.
